Web + Grid = "Ooo."

Collaborative blog post with Sam

In relation to the current stage of our web page layout designs, Dan Auer documents his use of grids on web pages similar to the format we are using. His design included navigations, which in the future will be more applicable to our study in web design. Auer uses a larger grid format that allows for a cleaner and more simplistic design. While relating to our process, we lack a formal and simplistic grid system like Auer. Instead, we're working in allowance for freedom in space, not giving us the consistency and unity shown below.

You can create "clean", "simple", "consistent" and unified compositions within your current grid. The simple grid that you have allows for those attributes while also allowing you some freedom. The modular grid used above is just another way of going about it.

  2. I suppose thinking about your comment Marty, though we are using different grid context, even just by looking at my own compositions you statement would possibly be proven as accurate. I can see this simply by me only having a two column base setup in my ending product. Realizing it now I may not have planed on the two columns but I can see how your statement is clear, by saying that the grid we are using can be altered or divided into any other kind of grids.
